Tobacco companies don't "insist" on putting poisons in their products. Tobacco already contains harmful chemicals.

The bigger issue here is that people KNOW that tobacco companies put poisons into their products, but choose to use them anyway. I know that cigs are addictive, but with medical assistance and alot of will power you can stop. People do it all the time. It seems to me that as long as there are people willing to buy the product AS IT IS, the tobacco companies will continue to make them.

Because they can and it is perfectly legal. The main problem is that they have caused multitudes of people to become addicted to their product, and they have strong lobbies in Washington---a real win-win situation for them and the folks on Capitol Hill. The more people who are addicted, the more money the tobbacco companies aquire, the more money they have to influence your representative---what a sick cycle. To make matters worse, they have become so rich and powerful, they own chunks of other non-tobacco corporations (just take a look at the link below). Americans should be outraged and they should look seriously at any office holders who are involved in this at election time.

Have no idea. Plain tobacco without the chemicals would probably sell just as well and wouldn't be nearly as deadly don't you think.

money, convinence, corruption, not giving a sh** about the consumer as long as they make a profit.
but it is also the smoker's fault bc they don't care what they inhale either, therefore no laws are made and no prevention encouraged.
