At first it was okay because I hug all of his family members when we visit each other but now we live closer to them so we see him more often and he has to give me a good hug every time. How do I break him out of that without being mean?

Every single time he comes over make sure your holding something or carrying something so he cant get the hug in but have plenty of time to get the hello's out of the way. Once the hello's are done and he is in the house a minute I'm sure he wont then come over and hug you. We can hope....lol

Why would you want to? What is wrong with him hugging you? If you want him to stop then the next time you see him and he starts to hug you tell him you do not want him to hug you. I am sure he will be disappointed because he is only showing he loves you.

maybe speak to your husband! tell him that you are uncomfortable with his dad hugging you all the time. Tell him that a hug is a very romantic thing for you and you dont feel its the right thing to be doing with your father in law. GOOD LUCK;)

Just tell him you have something contagious and don't know what it is yet. That should keep him away for awhile at least.
