Congratulations! However fasting is for cleansing, not losing weight. You will lose some, but because you stop eating your body starts burning calories much more slowly. Exercise and healthy food in smaller proportions is the way to lose weight. Still, a fast can be a very satisfying experience for cleansing the body and even emotionally and spiritually. When I fasted it broke me of being emotionally dependant on food, so it is a good thing.

When your body is deprived of food it begins to "eat" muscle instead of fat. The purpose of this is to lower your metabolic rate and enable you to survive on less calories. If you want to lose weight this is a bad idea. You have lost an incredible amount of weight already but the danger is that the program you are using is not sustainable. If, when you have lost the weight you want to lose, you go back to what you were doing before, you will put it all back on, probably quite swiftly, and because your metabolism is slower you are likely to put a bit more back on. After all the work you have done you don't want that to happen I'm sure.
Try and develop a healthy and sustainable eating plan. The walking is great, it will help you maintain good muscle tone. Good luck.

Eating under 1000 calories a day is not really a good idea, unless you are dangerously overweight. Since you CAN walk 5 miles a day, I'm pretty sure you aren't.

If you only lost 35 lb in 2 months at 1000 calories, then it wasn't 1000 calories.

A 10 day fast is perfectly safe but take a multivitamin while you're doing it. I personally know a man that fasted for 41 days and was perfectly fine I believe he did take vitamins though.

Probably safe but won't be permanent.
The secret to loosing weight and keeping it off is smaller lifestyle changes that are sustainable. That's why diets don't work.
Drastic changes in life style rarely can be sustained for the long haul.

Probably not so safe due the the heavy walking but if you are extremely overweight then its not so bad for a temperate time.
