Farmers Branch Texas: a city with the right to uphold the law within it's borders?

Question

Simply because a federal law says immigrants who sneak into the country are illegals, does that mean a city or a state has the right to turn them away??
How can they do this to decent people who are just not US citizens? Do they know how hard and dangerous it is to work in Mexico? What if some illegals have already bought a house there? (You do not need to be a US citizen to own a house). Can other cities do this too? How do we know if our city is thinking about it?
Anyway, how can a Texas city do this, since Texas is a hispanic majority state??

First of all, they aren't saying they have to go back to mexico, they are saying they have to go elsewhere besides farmers branch. The citizens of this city decided this, they want their town back. They want jobs that are open for legal citizens of that town, and they want english only. what's wrong with that. they are just looking out for their family's futures. me personally would like to live there. I might see if they have any job openings in engineering and move there to start my family.

Many city's and states are passing their own laws against the invasion of illegal aliens.The states have every right to impose laws against criminals.My state of Arizona just passed 4 great new laws against illegals.The majority of people don't want their city's flooded with a tidal wave of illegals,so they are doing the right thing by passing their own laws.As long as a state law doesn't circumvent a federal law a state can do as it likes.If the federal government doesn't do anything about the sanctuary city's that DO violate federal laws then why would they try to stop city's from upholding the laws of the land.
If people aren't able to vote because they are illegal ,or too young .Then having a lot of one ethnic group doesn't matter at all.In CA last Nov of the 39% of registered Hispanic voters,only 6% voted.Get the picture.
I don't care what an illegal alien has done good or bad my only concern is the fact that they are illegal aliens and don't belong in this country.Come here legally and be welcome but don't come here illegally and expect people to accept it.

Each and every municipality has the right to enforce immigration laws. These cities have the right to have them remain silent, give them the right to an attorney,the right to a speedy trial, the right to deport them. Residents legal and illegal are given equal justice under the law. It's called balanced power, when one branch of government will not fulfill the will of the people.

Mexico needs to fix their own problems, they have the money to do it. I hope you take the time to read the Mexican Constitution that prohibits illegal immigration and has a zero tolerance policy. If you are not a citizen of Mexico you cannot own property

If you let entities like the ACLU and the Sierra Club tell it, towns like Framers Branch and Palatine township don't have any say on the subject of immigration. These two groups have been responsible for emphasizing the problems of overpopulation by helping illegal aliens beat the law. They are encouraging illegal immigration to teach wealthier nations what over population, lack of birth control and stresses on the environment does to individual nations, states, counties and cities. Does that makes sense to you?

Farmers Branch is a city that it intends to enforce the immigration laws, simply because the Federal government refuses to do so. Each city has its own rights to apply immigration laws. There are other minorites beside Mexicans that are here illegally and those laws will apply to them, no matter who you are and where you come from.

Yes, every city and state has the right (and obligation) to turn illegals away (or have them deported).Obviously you don't have to be a citizen to buy a house, but that's how it's supposed to be. And why should it matter if Texas has a Hispanic majority? It's still one of our states, and all illegals are not Hispanic.

Yes, the city has the right to turn them away. See that word illegal?? Do they approve gun permit applications to people who commit felonies? (criminals do have less rights, you know?) I don't understand your logic.
How do you know they are decent people? A background check is only performed on people who come through legally. There are reasons for immigration laws....
What does the majority of Texas being Hispanic have to do with it? Lets stop thinking so much about race, and realize those people are AMERICAN, not illegal immigrants.

Yes, they sure do and several other cities have acted against illegals.

So what if there's a large Latino population in Texas?

Odds are, the vast majority of them either came to the country LEGALLY or are natural born citizens. That's the way it should be.

My wife is of Mexican and Spanish descent. Her grandparents on both sides came to the US, legally. The majority of her family resides in Texas. 'Nuf said.

I think it's crazy , If they are already there let them stay If they are illegal help them to become legal, this country is big enough for all of us, why can't we all just get along already. We all should have the right to a good life and if it's here then let them stay, As long as they aren't causing pain or suffering to other let their dream of a happy good life come true.

yes the city does have the right and the obligation to not just turn them away but turn them in. 65% of americans want this illegal immigration to cease and it shall cause we know that the best way to get it done is to elect leaders that want to enforce the laws of the land.

Its to bad that cities and states are doing what Washington will not do. As far as decent people, I grew up being told that decent people do not openly break laws, and that one should have respect for law.
