I need a quick assignment for my son to do on the Tea Act, Stamp Act, etc. Does anyone have any ideas? I am also willing to let him do a project as long as it consists of household items, and is somewhat small. We don't have time right now to run out and buy things.

By the way, he is homeschooled. So I am the one who gives him the assignments, not real teachers.

He is 15, by the way. I thought he would be past this part in history, but for some reason his history book is getting into the colonial times.

your a 'real teacher' everyone who interacts with kids is a teacher, whether they know it or not.
The other suggestions were good but I have a different take. I suggest keying in on the 'taxation without representation' aspect
Does your son get an allowance?
tax him for lunch!
Call it a 'lunch tax' - no warning, no input
or a TV tax - base it on the fact you have aa TV in the house, whether he watches it or not.
Once he starts understanding the 'tax w/o rep' ask him how he would like to be taxed
Ask him if he can identify any 'tea tax' we have today

Its never to early to get kids aware of taxes. if it were up to me tax collection day (April 15) should be election day! You like how your money is spent, vote for more of the same, if not eject the bums!
And you wondered WHY 4/15 and the Ist Tuesday (after the First Monday) in November were so far apart

Bon Chance!

Dress up and play the roles if he is still young. Have a tea party and have him play a certain role and act on it. Create a play and have him have speaking roles. U can help be apart of it as well.

Maybe a diorama of how the tea act happened. Or if he likes writing a reinactment script.

You could have him right a short essay on what happened due to these taxes and how it affected the American Revolution and our country.
