my dear muslim begum ,...
there is no such 'taboo' in hinduism...we are free n no1 is gonna come n eat us if we dont follow exactly what our gods did.
we are not paranoids my dear,...we change n adapt. our gods were also like that n we were taught to adapt. eating beef might not be prescribed but its certainly not prohibited by gods...OUR GODS PROHIBITED NOTHING...its we who took the cattle as sacred.....
but we change....

All the taboo's originate from the simple desire not to hurt others and from that, you can get all the taboos

actually you would be surprised to know that meat IS allowed in hindusim, but it's strongly discouraged.

hinduism is an open and very ultra tolerant religion. which is why the suicide rate for hindu's is the lowest among any religions in the world. :) hindu's are the happiest people you will ever meet. why? because they forgive. they love. and they are happy and at peace.
