Because God is to good to be true. It is easy to believe in something that appeals to the senses but to hold fast and trust in it when there is no reason - there is where faith steps in.

My belief in gravity has nothing to do with an "inventor." Invented or not, I have conclusive empirical evidence of gravity.
What you are asking is for me to believe in something that has nothing whatsoever to back it up except your insistence. On that basis I could just as easily "believe" in any number of gods, Santa Claus, and anything else you may decide is "believable."
Summary: I have to accept the existence of X BEFORE I can argue about how long X has been around.

This question is worded in incorrectly. People discovered gravity exists. It exists because of physics like when a car drives by you are pulled into it. or a tidal wave. The planets are spinning around and cause a pull (physics).
I don't believe it to proves or disproves any god(s). In fact there is more proof showing a god(s) to not exist than ever have. Look around at nature evolution and circumstance has made us what we are. We were not made this way. It was life that defined itself.

proof.
we all know gravity exists, u feel it, i feel it, everyone feels it and can accept gravity. those who believe gravity doesn't exist get corrected with a painful and potentially fatal impact with the ground.
can the same be said for god?
and if by some method yet unknown to humans u can prove god, the question of his origin comes into play. if u can believe a god just exists, i don't know how u can deny a universe not created by him can just exist, gravity and all.

Because Mankind wants proof. Gravity can be proven by the scientific method, God cannot. That is a matter of faith - the ability to reach beyond what you know with your brain and to instead feel it with your heart. As to why Mankind has "invented" gods in the past, such as Zeus, Odin, Jupiter, etc., Man will always try to look beyond himself in the hope that there is something more than this mortal coil, that he will survive Death. We are a race of survivors, and it is instinctual in us to fight, claw, struggle, and hold on to every second of life we can have and none of us wish to simply cease. Therefore we have the ability to have Faith - if we could prove Gods' existence this would remove Faith and hinder free will.

You are right it is the same thing. The thing is all the questions you answer with "God did it" just get transfered to God then. Who created the Universe? God. OK, who created God?
You really didn't answer anything and didn't provide any reason to include the extra step.
The big difference is that there is evidence for gravity, and there isn't any for god.

But don't Christians say God invented created gravity and that everything has a creator?

More importantly, if neither have a cause, why believe in God to create gravity? Gravity stands on its own, needing no creator.

Because there is scientific evidence that explains every single aspect of gravity. The same CAN NOT be said about god.
