any way to keep him from yelling so much? I don't want to be mean to it, or cover it up all the time.

My 2 conures both yell a lot! I will be looking at your answers to see if anyone else gives good info! Mine both have lots of toys, & food & water, & space to play. Mine doesn't like to be away from his cage though...the baby is okay with it, but the older one seems to be grumpy all the time! Good luck!

make sure s/he is gettin at least 10 hours of sleep at night. I think conures are quite loud out. I know the smaller genus is quieter, and I am not sure what the gold capped fall under. Make sure you play with your bird at least 1 or 2 hours a day. Remember they like to be part of the "flock". I would suggest gettin him/her lots of stimulating toys, maybe puzzles (like you hide a treat) and shrdding toys, something tha it can chew on that is safe. I bet if you went to a petstore they can help you pick out the right toys. Luck be with you

conures are a group of parrot known to be a bit more vocal. While you cannot completely eliminate their vocalization, making sure he gets adequate covered sleeping time at night, and offering regular switching out of toys can help. Most parrots like to remain busy, so buy some of the toys designed to mimic foraging behavior, and rotate his toys on a regular basis.

He'll likely always be on the noisy side though

I wish I knew...I have a conure too, & he is a pistol. He likes staying up when all the other birds are asleep & play. He yells to get out of the cage & even after I let him out.

sorry to say that birds scream and scream alot. I have been training parrots for years and the best advice I can offer you is to provide it with toys and possibly play music for it. But, that is what birds do... especially conures!
