There is this guy I've been seeing casually since this summer. When we met we both had gotten out of 4 year relationships so we were both trying to not get attached. Anyways, he called me the other night. He was upset cause his grandmother is dying. He said there was no one else he felt like he could call and he didn't want to call anyone else. He told me he loved me and he wanted to be attached now. Only problem is he had a few drinks before this so I really don't know whether to believe him. However he once told me if I really wanted to know something to ask him when he was drunk cause I would get more out of him. I have feelings for this guy. What do I do?

You need to be there for him during this stressful time. Don't worry about his level of commitment until things have calmed down. When he's not under so much pressure, it will become obvious how much he cares by how he treats you. Relax, be supportive and patient. This issue will resolve itself.

If you commit now, you have a very long road ahead of you. If he's turning to alcohol, and that's the only time you can talk to him, look out. I would not, get committed right now. keep being friends. Don't be afraid to keep looking elsewhere, for another companion. I don't see any future with this guy. Sorry. That's my gut feeling.

Wait and see how he acts. His actions will speak louder than words. I wouldn't confront him about it because he might take that as an opportunity to switch it around and pretend he didn't say a thing and that you're "pressuring him." Just let him show you how much he wants to be with you. Be there for him in this time of need.

It's too soon. Tell him you would love to be his friend and nothing more right now. He's vulnerable. Risky!
