It looks like a smiling face. More watches are sold this way. I did an entire 12 page report on it in college. It actually started in the 1700's when they weren't selling too many watches. A retailer realized that all watches with the time 10:10 sold faster, so he turned all of his watches to 10:10 and then people caught on. Even if you don't realize it, the smiling face subconsiously makes you buy it.

actualy the real reason if you look at the ads and stuff having the watch/clock at 10:10 allows for the best visable logo.
