The safest place to live in Los Angeles also corresponds with the most expensive. If you are a multi-millionaire that shouldn't be a problem for you but I doubt you would be using this site as a tool if that were the case.
That said, the safer places in Los Angeles (also corresponding with being multi-millionaires) are: Bel Air, Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Pacific Palisades would probably be the safest.
Safer but more affordable (by Californian standards) would be areas like: Santa Monica, South Pasadena/Pasadena, Manhattan Beach, Palisades, Westwood
Suburbs of Los Angeles that are safe: Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, Chatsworth - further east: Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Diamond Bar

The affluent areas are generally the safest areas. I'll give you typical answers--like, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Bel-Air, Brentwood, etc....The Westside of Los Angeles is the safest region.

We live in Camarillo and its pretty safe here also Thousand oaks and agora hills is pretty safe. Unless you can afford the big bucks then i would say Beverly Hills, Brentwood and so on ...
