The only home remedy I know of is brushing your teeth with baking soda.

Some of those tooth whiteners can destroy the enamel on your teeth. Also, depending on what type of water you drink will effect the color of your teeth as well as how much coffee or tea you drink. That stains your teeth as well. Some people who were given the drug Tetracycline when young, have stained teeth. Just get your teeth cleaned regularly by your dentist for good hygiene.

My grandma used to use baking soda - just wet your brush and dip it in. It whitens well. Which is pretty much why so many commercial toothpastes have baking soda in them.
