What I do is try to remember that the holidays are a very stressful time for just about everybody.
Not everybody handles stress the same way, and certainly not everybody handles stress well and gracefully.
So I handle people who are letting their stress drive their attitude in two ways. I remember that I'm doing better handling the stress than they are, so I should give them sympathy.
And I do what I can to keep their stress level from getting any higher. They will appreciate somebody caring enough to make something easy on them as possible, and you can tell them all you want in return is they have to pay it forward. It never fails.
I know it may seem smarmy to be nice to people who are being so irritating and mean, or who seem to not think, but honestly, it's stacking the deck in your favor to treat them in a way where they won't be more inclined to be mean, nasty, or take their stress out on you just because you're there.

I recommend finding a polite but firm way out of the situation. Refuse to give in to rudeness. If necessary, ask to speak to the person around back and tell them honestly in a plainspoken way how it is. Do not waste your time rationalizing with anyone. Most of these people, if they're really stupid, are incapable of understanding the effects of their actions on other people. You can also refuse to deal with certain people. Do not make a scene. Let's say you get bad service in a department store. Call the management later on in the evening or write a letter and send it. Go up to a supervisor, away from the cashier, and complain. Do not do it directly and don't make a public scene. It often backfires.

It seems that there are a lot of stupid people all of the time everywhere. I just ignore them. If someone comes into my house and acts belligerant thats a different story. I will drag them out by their hair. Luckily I don't let many people know where I live.

You mean like paying 2500 for a PS3? Or taking their kids near a toy store during the sale season, or how about camping out in front of a store so they can get the first pick of the gifts they want to buy...
I say just be an ******** to everyone you see to get into the commercial spirit

Depends on what you mean by "stupid..."
There are ignorant people, who may have a very high potential intelligence but just haven't had education or learned things on their own. Those kind of "stupid" people can often be shown things and learn them, although ignorance often means poor thinking skills, which can lead to accepting things as "true" without any evidence of any kind...
Then there are people who may be educated and possibly intelligent, but who have decided that they have no more to learn and they will never change their minds about anything -- those kind of "stupid" people are best avoided, because there's no teaching them anything, and they can be dangerous when they try and defend their dogma against any and all attackers.
Finally, there are people that are "stupid" because of mental defects, injuries, etc. -- they are almost always unable to learn through no fault of their own, and should be treated with nothing but kindness and understanding.
:)
Peace.

If I think they are stupid, I deal with them as an intelegent person would...I play to their weakness and manipulate their little minds to my advantage, make them bounce around like little robots then shake my head and walk away. If they are just acting stupid, they should soon stop after they realize it's not an attractive or productive way to act.

It depends on the situation. If their my customers, I just help them as much as possible. A smile and nod usually does the trick too.
Other people, I just keep away from.

Strongbad has some ideas on how to deal with the stupid guy at the office.
It might not help much but it makes me laugh.
