If u really did have such a wonderfull man now. I don't think u'd be thinking back. You've gotta be storng, (easy to say, hard to do, I know)
as time passes without seeing him, and your "new" partner keeps loving u more and more, I think u should be getting over it sometime soon. VERY Difficult sitiation! Best of Luck!
P.S. You might still love your ex in your heart, but NEVER go back to him, just try to forget him, he'll never be better then waht he was!

I was with my ex for 7 years, and the only difference was that he was a really great guy, it just didn't work out, and now I am with a man that is even better than my ex, but I still think about my ex all the time. U can't help but to care for someone that u shared part of ur life with. The key here is self control. U have someone that treats u better, so if u run into ur ex, act like u don't even think about him, just play it cool, and u'll get through it. don't fall back though, cuz it's harder to get up the second time.

My ex-husband did me wrong but a few months back I was thinking of him only on the basis that the guy I was dating was a major douche. Neither was really a good option but my ex-husband was definitely outranking the bf at the time because the bf was a major wuss. However, I came to realize that neither were worthy of my time or thoughts and that I was better off on my own. I'd rather think of the someone new that may or may not have come into my life then dwell on someone of my past or present who I already know will not in the long run make me happy.

That happens all the time and it is not unusual at all. I still think of my first love every once and a while and that was a decade ago. I think that the reason that happens is because there is unfinished business between the two of you. Whether it be that he hurt you or you still love him or just something that you meant to say and never did, those things can subconsciously eats you up inside and bring you to think about them at a later time and date. As long as it does not become a problem with you then you don't have to worry about it, just take it as it comes and eventually it won't come anymore.

If he gets out of where? Prison? (Just asking, cuz that's the only thing I can think of him "getting out" of.)
I do think about my ex, who did me wrong and is SUCH a loser, and the guy I'm with now is more than a man.
Of course, when I think about my ex it's to fantasize about chucking cans of corn at him if we ever run into each other in the grocery store.

Please forget about me and pretending I am a man. It is all out in the open anyway. I never think about you and have a empty feeling towards you Ariana. Stick with what you got, I found out I like men not women anymore. Sorry!
PS I only told you I was incarcerated so you would not look for me. I should tell you I am planning on marrying your father. He does not want to see you when he is with me. All my love to your mom. Kiss kiss :)))))

Notice...most women answered "yes"...?? Because we are sincere and sensitive and yes...emotional beings. It is fine to think about your ex, whether the relationship was good or bad. Every relationship has an impact on your growth and maturity and no matter what you or anyone thinks and you learn from it and move on, which is what you did. It's ok to think about him...really.

I think about somebody I never even hooked up with. So my maybe sort of pre-ex anti wife or something like that maybe. Maybe I would fall too. Not sure yet.

People make mistakes, and i'm sure he feels horrible about what he did, if he cares about you, some people just don't know how to deal with their problems, if he truly cares about you then he will want to change himself for the better and he wouldn't try to interfeer with your happiness, if anything he would do what ever it takes to make you smile. if you are happy with someone else then he would let it go, but i think if someone cares about you that much and you care about them let each other know, don't hide you feelings behind this other man if YOU want to work things out...

ITS NORMAL. I WAS MARRIED TO SOMEONE FOR 21 YEARS AND WE HAVE BEEN DIVORCED FOR 10 YEARS.
I STILL THINK ABOUT HIM.
I WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM SOME WHAT.
EVEN THOUGH WE ARE BOTH, WITH SOMEONE NEW, WE STILL THINK OF EACH OTHER FROM TIME TO TIME, AND WONDER WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
WE HAVE 3 BEAUTIFUL KIDS TOGETHER SO WE WILL BE IN EACH OTHERS LIFE FOR EVER.
I WOULD NEVER WANT ANYTHING BAD TO HAPPEN TO HIM.
YOU NEVER FORGET YOUR FIRST LOVE.
