If you are looking to relocate you should check out the website www.city-data.com where they have a wealth of info on your questions. Also they have a forum (it's all free) where you can talk to people from the area (adults with rational responses not like some of the teenager stuff you get from here). The California forum is here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/california/

There are plenty of safe towns to live in within California but you really have to be wealthy. Homes in safe areas no matter where you go in California will cost a million or more. I live in Simi Valley and it is very safe and nice there, no gangs or any serious crime. It's about 25 miles north of Los Angeles and I commute every day into the city to work. The commute sucks. Thousand Oaks is also very very safe. Also safe are a lot of places in South Orange County like Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Aliso Viejo, Mission Viejo (rated the very safest I believe) etc.

there's no such as a secure section era. Crime can take place everywhere. you would be able to stay in a effective luxury suburb yet little you will possibly understand that your neighbor would be an alcoholic and one evening once you bypass away that luxury domicile to bypass consume at your mothers and fathers, your neighbor may well be driving domicile and then rams into you. See how a secure place is non-existent.
