Are (free-will offering) pancake breakfast profitable?

We were thinking of having a free-will offering pancake breakfast at our church as a fund raiser. And was thinking, perhaps I should gather the stats first from others who have done this in the past. Can you please share with us your experiences etc. Thanks!

buy the 10 lb bag of Krusteaz flour at sams and mial in reciept and get back half. 4 cakes and coffee cost about 75 cent to plate. meat and OJ triple that

found it better to charge a flat rate. we gave out tickets with numbers 1 through 6 once the first five meals were purchased and the cards were properly punched the 6th meal was free
