just reading through this site and loads of kids - 12, 13 asking for dating advice. so many answers say you're too young to be dating. they're not to young to think about it, to feel the way they do, so why too young to go on a date? isn't it healthy to learn how to express such emotions? besides, even if valid, the point rarely has anything to do with the question asked, so why say it? do you really think todays teenagers will ask for help of they only get talked down to? i don't get it. please explain or empathise. i seem to be the only one who thinks this

I remember being a young teen, and I was an emotional trainwreck. I didn't have a serious boyfriend until I was 18, and my first date wasn't until 16. Adolescents that young just don't understand what goes into a relationship. It's healthy for them to like other people and want to have boyfriends or girlfriends, but it's hard to always take them seriously because serious things never come from "relationships" that start when they're that young.

Most of us respond to these questions that way because we are adults and know where dating leads to. We also know that teenagers or pre teens do not usually take precautions with birth control or condoms. We also worry that when they are older they will missed out on just being a kid...I mean after you graduate it is bills, job, friends...not alot of time for "fun"

I agree with you. Even though im only a few years old then the 12//13 year olds, if you talk down to them, they wont ask for help on anything.
