The Physician's Desk Reference should be in any library and it is available for purchase in most bookstores. The information is taken from the Food and Drug Administration and as such it is not terribly accurate but it does list generic and brand names for drugs and when there is no brand only the generic is listed. The PDR is not required to list every drug in existance although the United States Pharmacopia is so if the PDR does not work the USP should. If you require additional assistance please let me know as at times it is difficult to establish what the chemical, generic, and brand names really mean. For example what is the difference between metoprolol succinate and metoprolol tartrate? About $30 a month. Or the difference between propranolol tablets and capsules which are both generic? One works and the other does not. And so on. Good luck with your research.
