Skin tags are cause by one of the types of human papilloma virus. It is best if you get them removed by your doctor or dermatologist.

I've been told you can tie a small string or thread around them and leave it for several days, the blood supply will be cut off to the area and it should fall off --- I haven't personally tried this, so I'm not sure if it really works, but it does make sense.

I've also heard you can put Preparation H on them and they will fall off --- don't know if its true or not !!

My husband ended up just letting the doctor take his off --- it only took one visit and it was relatively painless for him.

Hi if you tie a piece of cotton around them quite tight in a day or so they will drop off, as this kills the blood supply to them

I don't think I would try. Please go to your doctor and show him. He can remove them safely.
