"wouldn't praying to God simply make their future punishment even worse" You are kidding right? Is there anything worse that eternal separation from God? Call it the Lake of Fire, call it Hell. It's terrible literal fire or not. It's punishment for denial of the Holy Spirit Saying that Jesus is not of God. let them pray all they want but without repentance without turning to Jesus for salvation how could it get worse? Jim

Good question: And true- Those who do not seek God's forgiveness but rather see him as "genie" who grants wishes, are not heard by God...there is a big difference. A sincere prayer of repentence is needed. God knows who are truly seeking Him:
Proverbs 15:29
The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

Lets put it to you this way ... unbelievers and believers alike will meet one day .. on judgment day ...
knowing that no one is without sin ... and G-d is Holy
... unless you have Yeshua / Jesus come between you and G-d when your in HIS presence you can not stand/your.. dead.
And lets not argue over this
... just like in the military .. you have officers / enlisted men ... in the same family as it were.
The officer is like being Jewish, have book knowledge and the law. The enlisted is like being a Christian, have life knowledge and The Christ.
Jews/Officers are few, Christians/Enlisted are many;
Officers live in Quarters, Enlisted live in Housing; different wording, but still being the same.
Jews call Him, Messiah; Christians call Him, Jesus;
Messianic believers call Him, Yeshua (meaning salvation has come). All in the same family ....
... but only one can teach the other ... especially about Life.
So, Yeshua / Jesus came to be the only lamb's blood and atonement for sins once and for all (Jews can't atone for their sins now by a blood sacrifice, no Temple) ... for all of us, Jews, Muslims, and Christians, all from the same family of Abraham.
.
Are you willing to take the chance that we are wrong and you are correct in your estimation of what G-d wants or doesn't want.

Well if you were in God's shoes and someone who didn't do even the littlest thing s you ask-asks something from you-wouldn't it seem unfair and like you were just being used? Like you said- if it's a prayer of repentance, we KNOW that's different-other wise- less they are asking God to reveal Himself- it's just trying to use Him.

Faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of God. If they pray, they may receive the spirit and be saved. If not, are they hurting you? God love all. Everybody is somebody Jesus loves enough to have died for.

I think you're really giving people lottsa ammo to harp on about how God HATES sinners, when it's not true. He LOVES people but not the choices that they make, necessarily.
