We are leaving for Missouri day after tomorrow to speak out against Puppy Mill Owners/Operators in front of the Justices of the Missouri Supreme Court! Thank ALLof you for your time and effort to close these misfits down!We couldn't believe all of the documents we got from all of you! One brazen operator appears to be trying to sell out, but it won't help them, we have the records dating back on them for 5 years! For some who OPPOSED our efforts by crying UNFAIR to honest breeders, YOU should KNOW where your puppies really came from, then you would NOT be on the Puppy Mill Owners side! As a Retired Vet with OVER 30 years in business, I have FIRST HAND information on one of the so called breeder of Dobermans, I was the pups Vet! I KNOW first hand! If you want to decry over the Puppy Mill Owners fate, then you will just have to cry! We want to close ALL PUPPY MILLS DOWN! Missouri is our next stop! 2 of the Cities we are looking at is Springfield and Collins. We will keep everyone posted!

Thank ALL of you for your support! No we are NOT stopping with Missouri, they are just next on a VERY LONG LIST!My wife thought when I retired, I'd slow down, not a chance! The Puppy Mill Owners in Springfield & Collins are just a part of it.I am speaking about a doberman pup I treated who came from Collins about 2 years ago, after looking at the website of the breeder you'd think this is a great site, BUT they have 6 different breeds of dogs available all year, and giving birth within days of each other, this just DOESN'T happen! If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck,it MUST be a duck! In this case, a PUPPY MILL! We have 2 Congressman who are backing us, and 2 Senators, all from Missouri! I will keep everyone informed. Please let me know if you had any dealings with these people in Missouri, if they are honest, they needn't worry, if they are overbreeding, selling dogs as akc who are not, and flooding the litters using papers from dogs long dead, YES they need to worry a LOT!!

Seems as though I cannot let mj comment pass. Yes Mam, I HOPE they are looking over thier shoulders! Everytime we've made a stand on Shutting down Puppy Mills mj seems to disagree with everyone! I STAND BY MY STATEMENTS! Every Puppy Mill needs to be shut down! If you are a "sometime" breeder and you care about your dogs, why wouldn't you want ALL Puppy Mills SHUT DOWN? Maybe anyone who feels sorry for Puppy Mill owners would like to come to Missouri and see the heartbreaking PROOF we have including you mj! If this forum "Bothers" you, then DON'T read it, but please do NOT try and put Puppy Mill Owners in a good light! I'd be HAPPY for you to come to the hearings, it MIGHT open your eyes! As I said before, Good Honest Breeders have NOTHING to worry about, it's ones who overbreed the dogs, ANY animal, everytime one comes into season &the ones who have numerous breeds of dogs who breed at all times! So what are YOU worried about? The Puppy Mill Owners or yourself? I will keep ALL POSTED!

Ok mj, let me state one more time for you.I am NOT out to stop HONEST BREEDERS, they have NOTHING to worry about! For you own information I have 137 breeders listed with the AKC, and all are members of USHS, BACKING our cause!I am taking all letters I have gotten from them to the hearings they ALL SUPPORT us! I just had a call from a fellow Vet in another state who breeds Greyhounds & has for years, he is actively involved with us, but his concern is YOU! A sometime breeder. If I have ALL of these people I put here, why are YOU worried? Everyone wants to stop Puppy Mills, why don't you? Have you ever seen a pup from one?Would you like for me to e mail you pictures of the Doberman Pup I treated with the SEVERE Infection that occured from a breeder in Missouri, want to see those pictures? They are WELL documented! You still seem to care more about the Puppy Mill Owners than the abuse the animals get! Maybe YOU are ONE of the breeders we are looking at if you are, LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDERS!

If you have a problem with that, I'm sorry for you.We are NOT looking to stop anyone from breeding, but you are ALWAYS spouting nonsense about stopping breeders, you are WAY OFF! If you are one of the breeders we looked at or looking at, then is possible YOU are upset with this forum,I can see why! But if you can NOT back up what you say with FACTS except to cry over Puppy Mill owners, you may well be one. We will NOT STOP in our efforts to close all Puppy Mills down, if that hurts your feelings, ask yourself WHY? But please don't try to stop us from what is right! Your feelings are free here in this forum as is ours, your right to say or not say is yours, BUT BACK UP YOUR FACTS! WE CAN! We WILL stop Puppy Mills!

2006-12-04 09:58:26 · update #4

mj, want to tell us your "Show dog names?" Sort of back your facts up? Your facts will be easy to check out, email me with the show dog names lady. I can & will back up my facts with documents, can you? Lets stop playing! We're FOR shutting down Puppy Mills Forever! If you are possibly running one, or buying from one knowingly then that is WRONG!Is that why YOU are so upset?

*I* am looking over *MY* shoulder!

"if they are honest, they needn't worry"

That is just plain not true. The laws you are helping to push mostly affect the good breeders.

We have been through this before, and it doesn't seem like you care if it stops people like me from breeding good, healthy puppies, so I will leave it at that.

" If you are a "sometime" breeder and you care about your dogs, why wouldn't you want ALL Puppy Mills SHUT DOWN?"

I would just as soon see them shut down, but I don't care to see my ability to breed/own dogs go down with it.

"Maybe anyone who feels sorry for Puppy Mill owners"

Have I EVER said this???

"come to the hearings, it MIGHT open your eyes!"

Come and fight the anti-dog laws, that STOP good breeders, that are passed all over this country. It might open YOUR eyes.

"As I said before, Good Honest Breeders have NOTHING to worry about"

Good honest breeders all over the country are feeling the results of these laws, and they certainly DO have reason to worry.

If it were possible to pass laws that did not affect the good breeders, I could be behind this. So far, nobody ELSE has managed to do it, so I am skeptical.

I am sooo glad that someone is doing something about this problem. As a vet tech I have seen so many puppies with severe health problems and mothers and puppies living in horrible conditions. A couple of years ago our clinic had 90 percent of the mothers and pups from a local puppy mill living at the clinic while she was being shut down. It was atrocious to see the condition they were all in. I think what you are doing is amazing and all of those who oppose it have no idea what the heck they are talking about anyhow. Once you have seen it first hand there is no way you could possibly deny that it is awful. Good luck!

God bless you! Why would anyone with a heart be against what you are doing? I have dogs and I love each and everyone of them like they are my children I would die to find out that any of mine or their pups ended up at a puppy mill ( we have only had puppies one time ) and that was enough after that litter we fixed all our dogs, and prolonged their lives by doing so. Because animals cant vote they are overlook and forgotten about, but thanks to you, the people that do this to the animals will be put out of business, and hopefully go to jail.

thumbs up to you, I have not been a fan on puppy mills, my dog has had 2 litters of pups and all the puppy's went to homes that will love them, my dog is not having no more litters because I don't look at her as a puppy making machine,, I just can't believe the people that can run puppy mills, where is the passion for animals, good for you for doing this and you should speak for all states in this matter,

For the guy who thinks you can only find good dogs at a dog show. There are a lot of good dogs that their owners never show them. I think putting a dog in a dog show is like putting a child in a beauty Pageant. I breed my APBT he is one of the best the vet as ever seen. He is will trained and never cause any trouble. Puppy mills needs to be shut down. Small breeders are the best to buy from. As long as the parents are free of flaws and the puppies are examined by a vet and have no genetic flaws that is all that is important. I know breeders of high quality dogs that's never shown their dogs anywhere they feel it is wrong.

thank god for ppl like you i work at fostering and i also volunteer at a local shelter . I cannot tell you how awfull these puppy mills are i have seen them first hand and the ppl who run them they ought to be ashamed of themselves . my god one lady brought us a bunch of yorkies purebred cause she had about 40 and did not have the time to give them baths . She said she did it to supplement her social security she was too old to be taking care ;of 40 pups . well i adopted one of those 40 pups and the pup still has problems with having only 2 teeth left at 6 yrs old . it is sad what ppl will do . you go and you shut these places down and dont stop untill you have shut them all down . god bless you and the others like you.

Get 'em!!! My dog was rescued from a puppy mill. Her treatment there was horrific. The puppy mill owner handed her over to the rescuers because that would save him the $ for ammunition to shoot her as she had an inguinal hernia the size of a cantaloupe. Go get 'em!!!

THANK YOU!!!

ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE PURCHASED A DOG PLEASE BE ADVISED THEY ARE RESULTS OF PUPPY MILLS FROM SOME POINT. Doesn't matter if you know the mom and dad they are probably offsprings of a puppy mill pup. BYB often breed from puppy mill offsprings. Unless you met mom or dad at an akc dog show you are breeding trash and need to be stopped. Breeding should be done to better a breed and its qualities yet most of you don't even know the qualities to look for. Just because your pet is akc registered Im sure this retired vet could tell youhow easy akc papers are to forge.
