You might think about trying this book called "The Movie Star Diet" by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn't think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

How short a period of time?

Just by walking 4 miles a day, and limiting your caloric intake to 1500 calories a day, you'l be surprised by how fast you lose weight. I started doing that and I was roughly 240 lbs. I lost 60 lbs in probably about 8 months. There is no healthy substitute for exercise and diet. Eat whatever you want, but limit that calorie intake, and you'll find yourself eating healthier just so you can have more food.

There is no HEALTHY way to lose weight in a short period of time. The only way you lose weight in a short period of time is if you get cancer, God forbid.
