12 immigrants got caught this week in the city that I live in. Immigration went to a construction site and caught all of them. The immigrants, 8 from Mexico and 4 from Brazil were working for as little as 20.00 a day. Whos the bad guy, they for being illegal or the Contractor for paying them that little? Please give me your opinion. Do you feel bad they are getting paid that little? Or are you mad that the contractor is paying them so little? Or send them back?

What you are talking about is legalized slavery. I would love to be on the jury that decided the case of those who paid to little to so many. I understand the desperation of people who simply want to earn a living to provide for their families and do support immigration reform. Angry yes I am at such things. Is it worth more profit to exploit those who can least afford it. Never. I think the contractor should go to prison, be fined the amount that he should have paid the workers and the money given to them . However they did break the law when they illegally crossed the border and should be sent home. But with the money they should have been paid in the first place. Just my view hope this helps. Happy Holidays and a peaceful New Year

Well there are a couple of ways to look at this....

1. I do think they should be sent back. There are legal ways to enter this country. We have laws in place for a reason, and if we don't follow the laws we have, in many cases not just immigration, we are no longer going to have the country we do.

2. I do think the contractor is appauling for only paying them that much. That is more like slave labor. It is hard to live on 15-20/hr let alone 20/day.

3. At the same time, if those workers would have came in the legal way they would have been able to make more money. That is the problem with being illegal, you limit you options. So they are as much to blame as the contractor.

I thoroughly believe that the reason that corporate America is so ga-ga about letting illegal immigrants stay here is because they can get away with paying them so little. The big corporate giants say that immigrants take jobs that Americans don't want. Since most illegals are getting paid less than minimum wage, no wonder Americans don't wont THOSE jobs. The employers who use immigrants as almost slave labor should be ashamed of themselves. The karma of the whole thing will get them eventually, don't ya think?

The contractor was only able to pay them so little because they are illegal aliens. If they were here legally they would have been able to ask for fair pay. The contractor was in the wrong for hiring illegal aliens in the first place, but the illegal aliens were wrong for being here. So I'm glad they got caught and I hope the contractor gets in trouble too.

I feel personal the contractor was at fault. Would he pay American that little? I don't think so. yes, the illegals didn't have a right to be here illegally but they are trying to make a better life for them and there family.

I don't feel sorry for the immigrants or the contractor. The immigrants are here ILLEGALLY and the contractor shouldn't hire ILLEGAL immigrants no matter how little or how much he pays them!

They for being illegal. If they didn't accept the jobs for $20 a day, the contractor would have to raise his wages for laborers.

I blame the contractor for enabling them though. He will turn around and charge the customer for the normal costs, he pockets the overflow. Unfortunately, so many contractors use illegals, they underbid those that do not. In order to compete, they must do the same.

Both of them are doing wrong, they for being illegal and the contractor for taking advantage of their situation and exploit them.
So, I am mad at both of them because they have no right in coming here as illegals(I think so even I am not American) and the contractor has no right to try to take advantage of other people needs and not hiring legal people and just try to get slaves.

I think the Contractor that paid them $20.00 is just as guilty as they are for being here illegally. I don't blame anyone for wanting to be in America. We have a great country and a great way of life here, however, if we don't stop and start abiding by laws, morals and ethical behavior, we will no longer have a great country.

okay----here we go again with another unscrupulous contractor.
the contractor has just taken good jobs away from those that are citizens here. it is his way of pocketing more money for himself
so therefore he is selfish and should be turned into the attorney general. as for the illegals here well they are wrong too-but-
thats why there here because no jobs were their from. they are stupid for working for that small amt of money......i'm sure they have family here they could live with. soooooooo-to answer your question they are all wrong. this situation should be turned over to a local tv station=publish this info about this contractor, that will hurt his reputation---contact the authorities about the illegals
and have them dealt with as well. this contractor should be removed from this job--just contact the person he is doing the job for and turn all of them into the authorities. this job should be shut down today.....the end.
