They should not wear the "infested" kids hats. Otherwise, they do not jump from one person's head to another. So sitting next to them in class is not going to give it to them.

All children at some point get lice! So it's very likely that they'll get them especially if there play together or in the same class.
I never even knew i had them because my parents told me they were just putting the lotion on to prevent getting them. So i suggest you do the same :) Don't let them know! Would you like to know little beasts were crawling around your head?
Hehe
Good Luck!

Keep the kids clean. My friend had this happen about 5 years ago. It involved us cleaning hair, pillows, coaches, carpet, pretty much anything that they could hide out in.

Look for them itching and complaining about it. Also look on the scalp (lice are super tiny). Also keep them away from other kids that have been at the school to reduce spreading it. Talk to other parents as well to see if their kids have it.

Go to the pharmacy and buy some head lice shampoo for a "just in case." This happened to my kids at school as well. Look for tiny little shiny objects attached to their hair. These are the eggs. Please have your whole family wash their hair in this product. Change the linens on the bed and wash them in hot water.

I really wish you success. I was so humiliated for my children because I had to cut my daughter's long hair. She had nits in her hair (the eggs). It was awful.

My three year old's pre-school class room had lice, we never got it and my kindergartner's class had it as well. Tell them to stay away from pillows, stuffed animals, other peoples hats etc. Lice like really clean hair, skipping a shampoo and putting hair spray on their hair might help.
