She could file for an H-2B visa if she just wants to work here seasonally, but that is company specific. She would need a job offer from a company and for them to sponsor the visa. Or an H-1B visa if she wants to work longer, but those are very specific to the job she would like to work. ie. doctor, or specialized profession. If she wants to do it on her own, look for a J-1 visa which is a student visa, but very easy to get. However her cost is greater, since she pays a sponsor company to get it for her. Have her look into CCUSA or Google some other J-1 sponsoring companies that specialize in that. Then she can work wherever she wants, but keep in mind it's only for 4 months. Then she generally will have around a month to travel and stay in the states after her work assignment is completed.

Just to give you a base direction, she can either get a work Visa to work down there, or if you wish to get married you're going to have to file for a "Fiancee Visa" which will allow her to come down there and marry you provided you are willing to sponsor(IE Pay her way)her for the next few years. When that happens she can get a green card to work there Get in touch with a immigration lawyer, and good luck, you may find the US is getting very finicky these days about who comes into their country-either way you go you are looking at a lot of paperwork and it's a vertiable legal minefield you'll have to work your way through. I've been through it myself, and I'm going through it(though it's a LOT less hassle) to bring my partner up into Canada right now.
Maybe you might want to move to Canada? :)

candians can paintings the following very actual. you may follow for a TN visa and paintings the following. that is a 6 month visa, yet is actual prolonged. in case you come back to a decision to marry, you want to get a K1 Fiance Visa. It delivers ninety days to come back the following and get married. at the same time as married you fill out petition varieties and bypass from there. in case you do come to a decision to bypass to marriage direction you need to understand the first 5 years of marriage will be you, your spouse, and the INS.

I live in Detroit... we have people that live in Canada come work in Detroit all the time. In fact I had a guy in my office that commuted every day. The bridge and tunnel crossing suck, but that's the price she'll pay for living the American Dream!
