I really doubt the bible would say that seeing as how there was none back in that day in age.
Besides...tell your mom you would like to discuss what happend in a calm manor. Don't yell or cry or anything just ask her to listen to you for a minute to tell her why you put on make up.
Alot of girls your age like to do the dress up thing around their friends. It was a sleep over right...it was just something fun like a game. You didn't go out to meet boys.
Personally I think your alittle to old now for her to spank you. Poor thing. I think a parent should decide on a certain age to stop physically disiplining their child and start morally disiplining them. She was alittle hard on you I think. But of course she sees you as perfect without alterations to your looks.
I just wonder if the bible says anything about disiplining your child at all. Talk to someone at your church and ask your questions.
You really didn't do anything wrong. So don't think your bad or anything.
Good luck. Take care.

I am also Christian. My dad is a pastor. Anyways, respect your mom, be honest,(yes i know that's hard), but your mom is right, you are too young to act immodest, okay?(I am fourteen and when my favorite people told me that I listen hard...)So yeah, don't be too flirty act normal, because, come on, it'll be hard, but I am so there for you..To your question...It is to your mom's decretion how she punishes you, I think you should have gotten off with a simple warning. The Bible does not talk very much about make-up. To me, to normal amounts will allow you to wear make up at the age of fifteen if the person wants to.

The Bible does not specifically say that women cannot wear makeup, but many interpret some verses to mean that. It doesn't matter anyway. Your mother can decide whether you can wear makeup or not and you have to obey her. You knew you were not supposed to and you did it anyway. You did something wrong and I'd imagine you learned your lesson.
There is no earthly reason for a 6th grader to wear makeup.

I'm a Muslim so no I can't say what your bible says. However makeup does dry out your skin and I know Muslim women and girls are forbidden to wear it. Not sure if it is in the Qur'an or not as I haven't read all of it but I know it's a rule that fits under "modesty for women".

Many churches believe makeup is sinful. Honey, you are much too young to wear make up. It will ruin your skin, make you wrinkle and age prematurely. It will dehyrate your skin. YOU can't improve on youthful skin. BUT not all churches believe make up is sinful. Once my pastor said, "If the barn needs painting paint it." Your barn or body in other words does NOT need paint at your tender age. As women age sometime they need a little help to look better. No woman should plaster makeup on their face. Give yourself time to grow up and listen to your mother God will bless you for it.

Well, there is a lot to this but the root of it is "Why do you want to wear make-up?" Are you unhappy with how you look? In my opinion, you are too young to wear make-up. I think that in a few years, maybe you can sit down and have a long talk with your mom and try to understand.

You are too young. Get over it. I was not allowed to wear make up until I was 16. You are only what 12-13. Get a life little girl. Your life is not over because you can't wear make up.

First off...I'm sorry but you have to make the best you can with your mom's rules.
Make up is NOT immodest. The problem is that your mom is one of those "holier than thou" types that take the bible WAY to serious.
1 Timothy 2:9
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array
Um...Where does it say no make up?
shamefacedness means (dictionary.com) modest or bashfull.
Modest means limited or moderate.
Looks like limited or moderate make up is permitted.
Here's what you'll find with "studying"
Good Luck.

A lot of people take that out of context. It was referring to Jezebel who painted her face to catch a married man.So, no it doesn't say that you are not allowed to wear make-up. But don't be in such a hurry to grow up either. Life is so much easier at your age. Good Luck!!!!
