I bought a comforter ,queensize, for a queensize bed and it was
plenty long from top to bottom but too short from side to side.
Measure your bed from side to side to where you want it to hang,
Then you should be able to tell what size to buy by comparing
measurements.

That depends on if you have a dust ruffle on your bed, and/or how high does you mattress and box springs sit from the floor up? You have to take all these things into consideration. If you don't have a dust ruffle then yes I would say it would look pretty cool with a king size spread. As long as it's not a California King. That would be way to big for it. And as long as it did not hang to much over so that you and anyone that came in your room was tripping over it!!! If your bed is up on a frame I would say no problem. I would think it would look really cool like that.

A queen will drape over the sides anyways. A king it may like rub on the floor unless you got a high bed

i have a king comforter on a queen. The queen ones always look too small for the bed, i like them to hang over the sides very far.

This may depend on the highth of the bed King size quilts are 100" x 90 up to 110" x 97" It may eliminate the need for a bed skirt (Ruffle) Personal choice for what you want your bed to look like.

It's really a matter of your own personal taste. A King bedspread will definitely fit over a Queen bed. I've done it, I liked it.

The queen sized bedspreads do hang over the edges of the mattress. Sometimes their big enough to cover the box spring, sometimes not. It's really up to you as to which size you purchase.

if you prefer to drape and would like to cover whats underneath the bed i would go with the king size
if you want to just cover the bed and look neat go with the queen size

I think the queen is better if you are going for looks of course, but if you don't care about how it looks then the king will do fine as well.
