When it comes to breeding, they are considered mature at 2yrs of age.
Now when it comes to when to switch from puppy to adult dog chow, it's 1yr of age.

A lot depends on the breed. Smaller dogs tend to mature faster, but I wouldn't consider a puppy to be an adult until they're at least a year and a half, maybe even 2. Usually, they're considered "teenagers" from about 6 - 18 months.

It does depend on the breed, with the larger breeds taking longer to mature. Usually, by one year of age, they have become an adult. However, with large breeds like German Shepherds, it can be up to two years before they are fully grown.

It does depend on breed. More so size.. small dogs like toy breeds (terriers, miniatures, etc) are considered adults at 1 year. Others/medium/large breed dogs are considered adult at 2 years.

Breeds mature and grow at different rates. For example, I grew up with Great Danes. They got their full height and can breed at one year, but they still have a "puppy brain." Maturity doesn't come for another year.

My vet said technically at 1 year they are adults but he also said to keep feeding them puppy food until they are 2 years old. I have a six year old that still acts like a puppy though.

Most dogs reach adulthood at around one and a half years, and full at two years. Some large breeds become seniors at around five and six years.
