Hello,

After my first child was born, it took 2 years to lose all the weight. But the skin on the lower part of my belly stayed loose, sagging, and wrinkled. Because of this, I had a really hard time finding pants that fit because my belly would "hang over" the waist of my pants. If I bought larger waisted pants to fit over my sagging belly, they would eventually slide down and once again rest below the sagging belly.

Now I'm pregnant with baby #2 and I'm carrying low (1st baby was also low). I can see that this problem is going to continue again because my very pregnant belly is sagging.

What can I do (plan to do) to make sure that when I lose the weight this time, my belly will move back up to its original location and the skin will tighten up. Is it possible that last time I took too long to lose the weight? Should I try to lose it faster this time?

Thanks so much in advance.

Regards,
Mari

I have had five kids and SIT UPS are the way to go - (crunches). Just work out a lot and do those sit ups - your body can return to it's normal size!

You will want to lose all your baby weight first and then look into meeting with a surgeon to have the skin removed. It is a common procedure that I have known several clients to have had great success with. It really just comes down to a matter of vanity. If you don't like it have it removed, if you can live with it and you are healthy then keep it. All the situps and crunches in the world can't tighten stretched skin...they just strengthen your stomach. Talk to your doc.

It has nothing to do with losing the weight. Your stomach has stretched out and there is no elasticity left in the skin, so it is going to sag no matter what. The only way to get rid of it would be having it removed by a surgeon. It's normally not covered by insurance unless the doctor states that it's a "necessary" medical procedure.

Crunches. crunches and sit ups. No matter how much eight you lose, for a toned stomach you must work the muscles.
