Negative. My son eats his breakfast at our house at 7:30am and goes only until 11am before he eats lunch. That's only 3.5 hours in between meals. That's pretty normal for most people unless of course your child is an overeater living off of Mc'Donalds Happy Meals.

FOr one thing, most of the time it is only like 3 to 3.5 hours between breakfast and school lunch and then like 3.5 hours until they get home from school. that is not that much time....if you are feeding a good breakfast before they go, they are fine. Kids don't need food access all the time...that is why we have so many over weight kids. Now I do think they do need to be allowed water though. Not juice or pop...but good clean water. maybe a thing of milk.

Schools serve lunch and in the younger grades they sometimes even have a morning snack but they also have lunch earlier then the older kids. There is no reason a child cannot last 3 hours without food if he had breakfast.

no, at my childs school there is no drink allowed in the class room, not even for the teachers, but the kiddos can get a drink from teh fountain any time with permission.
The snacks are not very often, but I pack a good sized lunch, and feed a good sized breakfast, so as to avoid any mid classroom munchy moods.

Kids are notorious for being sloppy with food.
What insane person would want to deal with all those spills on books and homework ?
It is NOT that long between the start of class & lunch.
Grow up, the teacher is WORKING and has to track dozens of kids . . . the kids do NOT work. Sitting and reading to yourself is NOT work.
This question may however, earn the whiny baby of the year award.

In the school my chldren attend, they allow them snack time during the day. I also send a bottle of water with each of them to keep at their desks. If the school your children go to do not allow this, speak to the principle. It is unreasonable to think the poor kids would not need a snack or drink.

My daughters school encourages the kids to bring water bottles to school. They start school at 8:40 and lunch is at 11:30. If you feed them an adequate breakfast before school they should not be starving.

Kids don't need to eat all the time. breakfast lunch and dinner are just fine. America is fat enough as it is without kids eating 4 and 5 times a day.

It sounds like you need to talk to the daycare owner or find a different daycare. Small children should be given snacks mid-morning and mid-afternoon as well as lunch.

I think you should voice your concerns to someone in charge. I fyou are not happy it may not be a correct fit. My daughters (18 month and kindergarten) are given a morning and afternoon snack and lunch.
