the chocolate was in the trash and on a shelf so my dog couldnt get it, she ended up getting it and eating it she weighs about 30 pounds and it was a 4X6 inch bar of dark chocolate(organic). i have seen no differences in her behavior and its been more than 24 hours she has had loose stools but she had them before she ate the chocolate so i wouldnt be able to tell the difference i adopted her so she may have a tough stomach becuase she probibly roamed the streets and ate alot of trash.

Your dog will be okay. I had a chow chow puppy eat a stocking full of m&m's....it upsetted her stomach and gave her diahrrea, so I gave her plenty of water to keep her from dehydrating. If your dog isnt acting strange or sick, then she should be just fine.

It certainly depends on the amount of chocolate ingested, the size of the dog, whether or not any was regurgitated, etc. I would definitely put a call in to your vet and ask them their professional opinion. They're sure to ask if she's showing any type of abnormal behavior or if her normal habits have changed, and in what way. As I'm sure you know (because you asked this question), chocolate is toxic to dogs. Not sure if it makes a difference about the chocolate being "organic" (not even sure what that means LOL), but I know dark chocolate is worse than milk chocolate. Definitely call your vet.

Call a vet for advice on chocolate.
Normally chocolate is toxic to dogs and can have symptoms that present like diabetic shock.
2 days ago though I think we're out of the woods. Vet call to be sure.

If it happened two days ago and your dog is alright right now, he;ll be fine from this episode.
Whether a dog will suffer from eating chocolate will vary depending upon the individual dog's size/weight, amount consumed, and personal health. It is commonly known that baking chocolate is the worse for dogs but don't tempt fate..don't let the dog eat the chocolate again, accidental or not.

the time to have panicked would have been a day or two ago! You got off really lucky! Organic wouldn't make any difference..A few M&Ms killed my precious pug..caused a severe seizure disorder, which lead to heart failure..tTe ingredient in Chocolate that is so dangerous, is very hard on the heart, and other organs.

if she was going to have problems it would have started within about 30 minutes of eating it. she is in the clear for now. i doubt organic or not makes a difference, its the ammount of cocoa in it, and dark has a lot. just be careful and put it up higher next time - you lucked out, some dogs just dont react as violantly as others.

be prepared to clean up a lot of loose stools in the next couple of days. You need to make sure your dog drinks lots of water as to not get too dehydrated and is she gets too sick get her to the vet.

If your dog was allergic it would usually show signs of sickness within hours. If in doubt still call your vet. Good luck!
