Hi Tina, I'll try and answer your question exactly from the perspective you are looking for.... Scabies, the condition, is caused by a microscopic mite called Sarcoptes Scabiei. This microscopic mite is present all over the world, but is more prevalent in areas that are unclean, unsanitary, and present the best conditions for the mite to live. Mites can live off the human body, or the host, for a few days...after that they die. So, if mites are present in a dirty area, they will eventually disappear if there is no suitable host for them to feed off of. The mite, once on the host (human skin) quickly gets busy. The male mites simply roam over the surface of the skin, whereas the females (those darn females) will quickly burrow into the top layer of the skin and lay eggs. The larvae mature in 3 to 10 days, and in a very short time, you have an infestation. The initial burrowing can cause itching, but the intense itching associated with Scabies, is typically caused by the mites feces, which causes an intense allergic reaction. As you probably already know, Scabies is highly, highly contagious and can be easily transmitted just by touching an infected person's skin. Humans typically acquire scabies from having close contact with an infected animal, typically a dog. I hope that helped you to understand it a little bit better. -Jeeem-

No they do not come from dirty dishes.
Scabies is a common skin infection that causes small itchy bumps and blisters due to tiny mites that burrow into the top layer of human skin to lay their eggs.

The burrows sometimes appear as short, wavy, reddish, or darkened lines on the skin's surface, especially around the wrists and between the fingers.

Scabies is contagious, and is usually transmitted by skin-to-skin contact or through sexual contact with someone else who is infected with it. The infection spreads more easily in crowded conditions and in situations where there is a lot of close contact - like child-care centers or nursing homes.

The most common symptom of scabies is severe itching, which may be worse at night or after a hot bath. A scabies infection begins as small, itchy bumps, blisters, or pus-filled bumps that break when you scratch them. Itchy skin may become thick, scaly, scabbed, and crisscrossed with scratch marks.

The areas of the body most commonly affected by scabies are the hands and feet (especially the webs of skin between the fingers and toes), the inner part of the wrists, and the folds under the arms. It may also affect other areas of the body, particularly the elbows and the areas around the breasts, genitals, navel, and buttocks.

If you continually scratch the itchy areas of skin, it increases the chance that the injured skin will also be infected by bacteria. Impetigo, a bacterial skin infection, may occur in skin that is already infected with scabies.

If scabies is suspected, the doctor may scrape a small part of the affected skin and examine the scrapings under a microscope for signs of scabies mites.

Doctors treat scabies by prescribing a medicated cream or lotion to kill the mites. The cream will need to be applied to the skin all over the body, not just the area with the rash, and usually must remain on the skin for 8 to 12 hours before it can be washed off. After applying it, don't wash your hands - scabies mites love the area between the fingers! You may want to apply the medication before bed, then wash it off in the morning.

Most often, the treatment needs to be repeated in 1 week.

Because scabies can be sexually transmitted, sexually active teens with scabies should be examined for other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) too. Any sexual partners will also need to be treated for scabies.

Direct physical contact - like holding hands - is the most common way to transmit scabies, but because the mites that cause scabies can live as long as 2 to 3 days in clothing, bedding, or dust, it's possible to catch scabies from another person who shares the same infected bed, linens, or towels.

If someone in your family is being treated for scabies, all other members of the household should be treated, too. Clothing, sheets, and towels should be washed in hot water. Each room in the house should be vacuumed, and the vacuum cleaner bag should then be thrown away.

I HOPE THIS HELPS!!!

I don't think that dogs get the same scabies as us. There body temp is higher and you don't get scabies from dirty dishes. They are contagious and in nursing school they said most are spread with hand shakes. My little brother got them on his back from a wrestling match at school. We are pretty sure as the other guy who wrestled the same guy got them too. They are a parasite that burrow into your skin and it lay eggs and poop there.
Your daughter might get ecoli or bauchalism ( sorry can't spell and not in spell check) there of but not scabies and to get rid of them she will need to bleach sheets in hot water and dry them in hot dryer and spray couches and other upholstered furniture and clean her carpet and then after does all that would be good to set off bombs but ask doctor how long before new eggs hatch first.

Those website aren't completely accurate, as a child I had scabies. It doesn't always cause rashes, sometimes it can be completely invisible from the outside. The bugs can only live in skin though, she can only get them from someone else who has them.

Scabbies are spread through clothing or touching people who are contaminated with the bugs. They usually enter through the fleshy parts of a persons body. Such as between the fingers, toes, buttocks.

They start out looking like a small circle kinda rash that will itch. When you itch you spread the bugs to the different areas of your body.

Of course it can come from that. My mother always told me only "dirty people" get those diseases and she taught me NOT to be a dirty person. She can also get things even WORSE than scabies. If she get mice, they carry a disease called Hantivirus. That is fatal and comes from the mouse dropping that can be left in cupboards and under the sink. And you don't have to touch them to get it---it's airborne.

DISGUSTING.
