this apparent fantasy story made up by u.s soldiers that in the first few weeks of the war in iraq, an iraqi ambush attacked a small american engineering convoy, and this jessica lynch got taken hostage and then an operation was launched by u.s special forces to rescue her.well the truth came out even before she was rescued to the world media, she was taken to an iraqi hospital to get treated, then the doctors called the u.s military she was there and told them to take her away, all this was caught on camera, so once the u.s soldiers turned up they made up the sotry that they saved jessica lynch in a speacil operation. ha ha how pathetic did they look when the world was shown the truth on t.v what realy happened, she was told not to talk to the worlds media to save thier embaressement.how sad, this was just one of many hundreds of lies leading up to the war and after, the biggest was iraq haveing w.m.d's and haveing links with alqueda.don.t worry the worlds laughing at you.

nice question and talking about the media, did u know the iraq conflict has claimed more journalists lives then any other conflict in the world, even more then world war 2 ,the vietnam war,and three quaters were killed by american soldiers, thats proof they wanted war crimes filmed by news medias to be stopped and not shown to the world so many inquests over the deaths of journalists have blamed the u's forces, including another one which is about to open in spain.war crimanals don't like to be filmed commiting thier acts.

It wasn't. The media did that to promote their made for TV movies, which I think all the networks did. A pretty woman in danger is an instant made for TV movie idea. That's the type of movies the Lifetime station lives off of.
The U.S. has given Congressional Medal of Honor awards out in Iraq and Hollywood and the news hasn't bitten on those stories. You will just have to read the stories on the net.

The U.S. military didn't build the story up, the media did because they wanted to have a pretty, white female on the news as a war hero. Radio intercepts of the Iraqi Army (Saddam's, not the current one) specifically said that it was a blond MAN who was firing at them. In Arabic, 'man' and 'woman' don't sound similar like they do in English. Who was that man (who was killed)? The media won't tell you. It's just another example of 'Report it first and check the facts later', because nobody polices the media.

Propaganda is just another tool on the toolbelt in war. It is used the same as EVERY country has done. Stop being so smug and self satisfied. All countries that have been in war have used it. Why disable yourself to satisfy a few defeatists? Remember the phrase "All's fair in love and war"?
And I am sort of smirking at you right now too.Truth is not truth if it is an opinion.

Everyone ranting about oh you believe every little hype you hear. But yet they beleive everything the goverment tells them. Our goverment maybe one of the best but it is far far far from perfect. So I suggest everyone do some independent studing not just realling on your Right or Left wing propaganda.

Well for one, I'm laughing at you for all of your grammatical errors and apparent dyslexia.
Secondly, it says a lot for our society to be self critical. For our media to follow the trail of BS, confront our nations leaders with hard questions, demand that our leaders answer to the American people and not be locked up for it is an example for ALL countries to follow. If this were most other countries, we would have never found out that the Lynch story was "Embellished" to say the least or that Halliburton had links to this administration.
I will say that the truths that are coming out are an embarrasment to the Bush Administration, but that is distinct and exclusive from the American people and our soldiers. I hope you guys and gals over there get home soon and safe. We miss you.

You are the most ignorant person I have seen on here yet. First off your ability to spew BS is almost as impressive as your INability to look up actual facts. I WAS IN 5-52 ADA (the Battalion 507th maint. belonged to) and knew each and every SOLDIER lost and/or captured that day. The doctors had nothing to do with her rescue, it was one man and his wife (whom now both live in the US with political asylum). Jessica may have not of suffered what others had to endure, but trust me, she endured more than YOU will ever have to in your lifetime. Soldiers receive missions and orders and do not ponder on the whys and how comes, we leave that to you.
Fantasy story? I would love you to say that to the face of any Soldier from that time frame, the 507th, or 5-52 ADA...PERIOD! Hell why don't you say that to any of the families of the Soldiers who fell that day?
You know nothing, your rant is wrong and you are WEAK for believing every little piece of hype you hear. Your opinions should be based on FACT not hype.
So sit there and chew up the 1st Amendment like a bad pizza while Soldiers like Jessica and the rest from the 507th fight for your right to do so. Enjoy that free freedom, nancy boy, there are alot of us who know NOT to take it for granted.

It was a rescue mission. BUT unlike Russian rescue missions the guys who did the rescuing didn't kill 70% of the hostages. Getting any military or civilian person back is seen as a good thing.

You are really lame.
In the future I suggest that you check your facts before posting your opinions here.
Clue for the clueless: a reporter picked up a rumor and reported that rumor as fact - despite the military's warnings that they could not confirm the story.
