When on a night out there are two drinks that even the sound of makes me feel sick....and think ewww why wud u want to drink that. They both taste vile in my opinion, yet soo many ppl i talk to seem to think mmmm instead lol. These drinks are Southern Comfort (i mean WHAT is it?) that horrible fruity tang with a whiskey taste, i hate whiskey anyways so to stick a fruity edge on it is rather sick in my opinion lol. The second one is Baileys (i really would gag if i tried to drink that) its like drinking chocolate milk with a tang! And i hate milk and melted chocolate. I just find Baileys too thick and creamy and just not drink like to me. Not sure why people like these, i cant believe more people dont hate them toooo (vodka girl myself, almost tasteless and fairly versatile to go with anything). Anyone else out there feel the same? Pls tell me there is, begnning to lose hope, and think i must have the only well developed taste buds......

I don't drink and haven't in 22 years, but I am with you on the Southern Comfort, but I have to say, I used to love the Baileys....

Ah but it is a question of your taste buds and your age. When I was younger sweet syrupy drinks were appalling as were deep red wines. I only drank vodka, rum and white wines. Then I became a little older and more sophisticated and as my diet changed so did my taste in alcohol. Stronger sweeter drinks that flavored coffees well as after diner drinks were suddenly less appalling. Age and experience are the key to taste development. Different foods also influence diet and as your taste in foods change so might your taste in alcohol. In the mean time - to each his/her own and enjoy your happy hour!

Southern Comfort and Baileys are really not meant to be drunk straight....

I enjoy both of those liqueurs, but never by themselves. Add spirits for higher octane, and something not-sweet to spread it out.

I love them both! But I have to chase Southern Comfort with a soft drink or soda.

i find these drinks to be almost like syrup. i am not a big fan of any sweet or fruity drinks. about as close as i get to "sugar drinks" is a Cuba Libre. that is coke, rum and lime juice.
