Women are allowed in the USMC as well as all branches of the military. Women are not allowed to be in combat roles. However, in places like Iraq, every role is a combat role because an IED can hit those in support positions too. Every Marine is a rifleman so women are able to shoot and shoot well, however, they are kept from the front lines of fighting. Secondly, a woman who wants to be in a combat role would have to become a pilot as this is the only type of role that is currently available to a woman who wants to be in combat.

Yes, they are allowed in the Marines.
As far as combat MOS's, I don't think they are allowed in any, but I know in the Marines, everyone's a "Rifleman first". In the 14+ months I've been in Iraq I've seen more than a few women here (from all the services), and EVERYWHERE here is a potential 'combat position', since the whole country is the front line.

Women are allowed in all Armed Forces (where have you been?) but not allowed to obtain a direct "combat MOS or job", however every job runs the risk of being deployed and everyone in Iraq and Afganistan run the risk of attack, bodily injury and having to fight in combat.

Of course they are allowed to join the Marines.
I don't know what MOS they can have that would involve combat though.
Good luck to you and Thanks if you're joining.
