My wife started playing an Ouija board because she is obsessed with psychics. She played it by herself for a couple weeks, and was obsessed with it so I took it away because she would not do anything without asking it first. She always had the same spirit come to her, her deceased uncle. After I took the Ouija board she didn’t need the board to communicate with him, she said his voice along with others was coming to her in her head. She then thought she was psychic and a medium and used past information to try to persuade her family and friends that she is psychic. The voices told her I was cheating on her so she left me. Te voices told her to stalk this innocent young lady and confront her for cheating with me. The lady had no clue who I was. I’ve never cheated; I’m not that type of person. She did some other crazy things and her family took her to the hospital. She was diagnosed as bi-polar. She was doing great after she got out of the hospital, she moved back in with me, but had bad side effects with her medication so the doctor put her on an anti-depressant. She has quit taking that and is on her own natural medication that she found online. She still thinks she is psychic and I don’t know what to do anymore.

She was put on an anti-psychotic after released from the hospital where she was evaluated for a week. While in there it took her many days before she realized she had an illness and needed help. After she got out of the hospital and was on the medication for a little over a week she started to finally realize what was going on her life over the last year. But, the day before that she quit taking the anti-psychotic and she hasn't acted like she did that since.

personally, I would get the hell out of the relationship, but if you really love her so much that you can deal with the heartbreak of her psychotic episodes then there is only one thing you can do. You have to make sure she stays on her medication. Not only is there lithium, but there are a variety of other anti-psychotics and mood stabilizers that help people with bi-polar disorder. If she refuses to take her meds, then you shouldn't be with her because she will not be there for you, she will be in the false world created by her illness. Good luck brother, I've had personal experience with this heartbreaking illness and it is not easy no matter what you choose to do.

I myself have bi-polar, and let me tell ya, there have been times when I considered whether I was a medium. From what I understand, thought of possession/spiritual connection/psychic powers are fairly normal with such an illness.

Bi-polar and schizophrenia are very closely linked, and it's quite possible she has both if she's been hearing voices constantly. Perhaps it is best if she returns to the hospital until they can better assess the situation.

I strongly recommend Zyprexa for any psychotic symptoms. I take it myself and have no problems, aside from mild weight gain, which isn't hard to stave off.

Good luck to both you and your wife. I hope the situation levels itself out soon.

Has she ever gone to the doctors and gotten medication? Are you sure she is Bi-Polar? People who are diagnosed Bi-Polar are usually put on Lithium at first. My friend has been on Lithium for about 6 Months now. He has been taking 200mg 3x a day. I don't ever recall him ever saying he heard voices though.

The Lithium has certainly helped him with his "manic" episodes. I would like to suggest you call you local NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) chapter. You can find them on the web and it will point you to a clinic in your area. NAMI also offers local support groups for people who have loved ones with mental illness.

My heart goes out to you. I hope that your wife will get the correct help she needs. I also hope that you will try to find a support group for you.

I believe we are all psychic, but for the majority the gift or the belief has been long knocked out of them. Educated out is another way of looking at it. Many professional psychics have grown up in a psychic friendly environment. Perhaps a grand-parent or parent with the knowledge has helped bring the extra sense out in the open and encouraged its use. But there are as many practicing psychics who have not had the benefit of caring psychic guidance and who have still managed to develop and hone this natural extra sense.

I would leave her and file for divorce under "mental torture/abuse"..
Do it quickly before you end up as a headliner at the county morgue..

Good Luck...

I hate to tell you she needs professional help, starting with a vacation to the local mental ward...

Bad idea for her to quit her medications. REALLY bad. But she probably thinks it was necessary and that is part of her illness. She really needs to go back to the hospital. I think she is more than bipolar....she sounds schizophrenic to me.

You need to consult with her doctors immediately and get her on meds that work. Good Luck.

Sounds like schizophrenia to me. She should be re-evaluated by psychologist
