I was reading up on hotel/casino packages and many state that they include a buy-in voucher. Any idea what this is?

Many casinos give you some kind of gambling vouchers when you stay there, especially if you get some kind of package deal. Most often the vouchers are some free slot play. You put the voucher in, waste it, and leave. That's about it.

I wouldn't really let it sway your decision on where to stay unless it is for a significant amount of money.

Some casino games (like Texas Hold-'Em) require you to "buy-in" to be able to play the games. That is, you must put up some money up front to participate. The packages you are seeing are offering you a "bonus" of a voucher (coupon) for such a buy-in so you can play some game without first spending your own money. Hope this helps!
