My boy friends daughter had what they thought was a boil and now the doctors say its mrsa. she was in my home over the weekend. I have a 5 yr. old what should i do to make sure she and my home are safe?

Good house cleaning and general wipe down should be enough. Unless contact with this "boil" was made and contact with an open sore or broken skin, your child should be ok. You have to have direct contact to catch it.

MRSA on the web will give you all kinds of good information. You see these types of infections in nursing homes and hospitals with a long term care unit.

Do a search on the web and once you read up on it, I think you will feel better about the contact your 5 year old had

this is very contagious! My cousin has mrsa! If your boyfriends daughter had/has a cut or a scrap and it came in contact with your son, there is a good chance that your 5 year old could catch mrsa! I would sterilize everything! www.mdweb.com

MRSA Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus is a bacterial infection with high mortality. No need to get panic. Simply go to your GP and ask him and he will take nasal swab will do culture.If positive he will treat with antibiotics.
