I think in the past 6 months I drink maybe a sip or two very other day just to take an aspirin, but other than that i don't drink anything. I haven't felt sick up until now, I get headaches, muscle spasms, and I just feel so tired and depressed. Do you think that me not getting enough fluids could be the problem? I heard that not drinking water can kill you, but I don't drink water at all...shouldn't I be worse off?

yes, that's exactly the problem and it's a serious one at that. why would you not drink anything? that's completely ridiculous... you need liquid every day. surely you must be drinking something else, then, other than water? most of the body is made up of water and you optimally should be drinking 64 ounces a day. it's very unhealthy to not drink at all. i'm surprised that you have made it 6 months if you don't drink anything at all, to be quite honest. you need to get medical help right away.

You are dehydrated and your muscles are telling you they want some fluids. Drink water.

Don't go drinking flavored drinks, gatorade, whatever they will just deplete you more as they are usually high in sodium.

Start slow and try to get up to 6 glasses a day. I had a similar problem. Everyday now I pour the amount I need into a large water jug and know I need to have this down by the end of the day.

You will feel much better- and lastly- you do get fluids from things you eat as well so it isn't like you get "no water." just a very limited amount.

You really should drink water...and this is spoken from a person who never used to drink water. I swear I drank water like you, barely ever, and I got a bad kidney infection and was in the hospital. The pain was unbearable, and now, Ive learned the benefits of something so simple like water. I noticed significant changes in my body, skin and energy...its crazy! I slimmed down, my face never breaks out and I feel energized. My muscle are more fluid and strong, and I havent caught colds either. I also would get terrible headaches, and if I do, I drink water and it really helps.

You could always be worse off, so your good in my eyes, but why not turn that frown upside down by opening a cool Evian?

Well, its your health. Muscle spasms and cramps could definitely be caused by dehydration. I take it that even though you haven't been drinking fluids, that you have still been eating? There are plenty of fluids in food, and our body uses all of its resources.

Being without water could kill you within a few days. You should be drinking more fluids, it doesn't necessarily have to be water. You said you're depressed. Are you trying to hurt yourself? I hope not. If that is the case, please get some professional help.

The eight full glasses a day is actually not backed up by science, however you should drink enough water so that your urine is clear. A lot of fruits and vegetables with few calories are full of water. Watermelons are about 90% water, lettuce and cucumbers 95%, and apples 85%. If you eat plenty of these kinds of fruits and vegetables, you will probably be hungry but you won't need as much water as you normally would. Lack of water or salt causes muscle soreness and you need more water when you exercise because you sweat.

YES! You're supposed to drink 8 full glasses of water a day!

You're suffering from severe dehydration. Seek medical assistance immediately.

I would drink gatorade right now.
