how can I get rid of my cat's horrible bad breath? Is there something I can give her to eat that will help? I really need to get rid of this!

Take her to the vet and see if she has gingivitis. That causes bad breath. Also, look at her diet -- give her more natural, unprocessed food and she will have better breath and less stinky poo. Brush your cat's teeth if possible...start with some tuna flavored toothpaste and rub it on her teeth...then work your way up to the toothbrush. You can take her in to get her teeth professionally cleaned at some vets and groomers.

There is a product on the market called Oxyfresh. They have an ordorless and tateless liquid that goes right in your pets drinking water and freshens the breath that way. They also have gels you can use everyday on your pets teeth. Also get some dentistry work done at the vet clinic and that will help a lot. There are some treats as well on the market that promotes good breath. Also, if you feed your cat soft food only, this isn't very good for their teeth. Intergrating a hard food, or even hard treats will help clean some of the tartar which causes bad breath. Oxyfresh is great though. I have used it and it woked wonders on my cat and dog. Hope this helps :)

You need to talk to the vet. Sometimes if a dog or cat has horrible breath it means they have a cavity or something is wrong with their mouth. If this isn't the case, the vet might have some remedy for you to use. If not, I would give your cat mints they sell in any pet store specially made for cats.

I recommend Dental Fresh for Cats. It is a liquid you add to their water (follow instructions on amount to mix and how often to change)...it doesn't make their breath/mouth minty but it just neutralizes everything..it's like getting licked by a plain wet towel..no smell, no odor.

I've feed my fur-kids greenies and tried the pet mints... the greenies work for dental hygiene of rubbing but I found it didn't do anything for their breath nor did the mints.

The cause of bad breath in cats is caused by dirty teeth. Have your cats teeth cleaned by a vet and buy a tooth brush and brush daily

It sounds like she's got some tartar build up. They do make tartar control dry cat food as well as treats that help with this problem. I would suggest you take her to your vet for a good tooth cleaning and follow up with the tartar control food. Your diet should be able to give you a good recommendation on which food would work best for your cat. Good luck!

Bad breath can be caused by a number of things, including Cronic Renal Failure (CRF or Kidney disease). Have her checked...if her teeth are ok and she has a good diet and everything else is ok then you need to have her blood checked for other problems.

Hope this helps.
