Man some people get soo offended. I am NOT looking at dating a person who is average, so for some of the people who were quick to judge, just back off! Me and some co-workers were discussing it and there were several "opinions" of exactly what it meant. I already have my own opinion and just want to see what the general opinion of other people is on exactly what an "average BODY type" is.

It means not being athletically fit or muscular. It means that she is not fat nor slender... She probably has a little fat...I said little fat along the edges...
Good luck!!!!!
Though on on-line dating sites, most women that say they are average are slightly overwieght... Not fat, but round along the edges...

average weight is quite a generalization. All depends where you saw "average weight". Some magazines have their own perspective of average weight but read this:
"Adult men and women are roughly an inch taller that they were in 1960, but are nearly 25 pounds heavier on average as well. The average weight for men aged 20-74 years rose dramatically from 166.3 pounds in 1960 to 191 pounds in 2002, while the average weight for women the same age increased from 140 pounds in 1960 to 164,3 pounds in 2002. 3"
this is from the health department.
for a celebrity I will say probably... Michelle Branch!

Average is a vague term...can be average looks or average size...But it could be they are just a bit thicker than thin or slightly overweight or out of shape...or heavy and not want to say. AS for a person as an example...it varies on the person's interpretation of who they are comparatively.

Average, means they are the average weight for their height. That isn't underweight, or overweight.
Now if you want a celebrity/singer that fits the description, then I'd say the one that comes to mind, is Gretchen Wilson.

I would not say she means fat . . just on the chubby side. Hard to think of an "average" celebrity since they are all size 0 -2! Why is it so important anyway? If you base people soley on their looks, you may miss out on something great.

It means she's probably overweight. The way I see it is that most people seem to lie about their body/appearance online, so if they are going to say 'average', they are probably overweight. To an overweight person, 'average' seems good..... but that's just my opinion.

Average is misleading...some woman think average is relative to their friends...but if their friends use Omar the tent maker for their tailor...well...see how it get's screwed up? I personally think it has to do with a lack of education and not understanding what the word average means....Just preview the Yahoo dating site...you will see quite a few who do not understand the meaning of the word average...photos don't lie...much! :)

It means not a fat girl but not a skinny girl, girl with an *** what one would like to shake when dancing. Fair sized breasts and totally happy being the way she looks and with gut which does not hang over jeans.
I think that average means whatever you want it to mean...be happy with who you are and if someone doesnt like you for it...let it so be

No celebrity or singer is average, they are all sickly skinny unrealistic body types with hyper inflated plastic breasts.
Average is what it is, average. The average American woman is 5'4" tall and wears a size 12-14.

If they're being honest, they're the exact right weight for their height. If they're lying, they're overweight. Average in America isn't the same as average all over the world, so they'd be false in claiming that's what they are.
