The XP registry contains literally hundreds of thousands of entries dealing with everything imaginable on you PC. If you are looking for a way to "reset" the registry to a generic or default setting, no such thing exist.
About the closest you can came is to be restore the registry to a previous backup of the registry. That is done by using a reore point. Start . Accessories > System Tools > Restore Points.
From the calendar you can select a restore point and have the computer return the registry to what it was at the time the restore point was made.
