It requires a small amount of butane gas, and none of the places that sell the torch sell the gas that goes with it.

Try your neighborhood big block store. Target, Walmart, they should all have this

Try a hardware store - butane is also used in soldering. Also Asian food markets usually carry it. Good Luck!

Call up Superior Products. (I just threw away their catalog so I don't have the number, but it's superprod.com) If they don't have them, they're very friendly and can point you to someone who does have them.

I have a vague recollection that you can use the lighter fluid for cigarette lighters in it, but please, do NOT quote me on that, it's been several years since I've used one!

I recommend you dump the culinary torch and go with an industrial handheld model.

They are more powerful, the refills are cheaper and you can use it around the house for plumbing, thawing pipes, etc.

Bed, Bath and Beyond sells the zippo torch refills if you are looking to stay with your wimpy version.

Also your local tobacco/cigar store should also carry cans of it.

But take my word for it...go industrial!!!
