I think we're all going to be shocked, one way or the other.

Either Franklin comes back better than ever, as a reborn force

or

He looses his edge and starts loosing to lower level competitors.

I don't think that there will be an inbetween. Let's be honest, he looked like he was not ready to be in that ring verse Silva. I think he was already worried. He knew that Silva was the toughest match of his young career and had seen him tear through friends.

My prediction:
I think his game will improve 10-fold and he returns a born-again Warrior. Then- Watch out. With his work ethic he has the internal weapons to regain the edge and showcare the heart of a champion.

Rich "Ace" Franklin is gonna get his belt back, hes gonna get 2 fights in and then fight Anderson Silva. Tim Sylvia waited 1 year and 2 months until he fought Arlovski. So Rich is gonna fight Anderson Silva in about a year. Rich Franklin was not at his best shape to fight the toughest fight of his career, he looked burned out. Wait until they fight again hes gonna shock the world when he beats Anderson Silva. When he wins he is gonna definetly silent his critics, the guy loses one fight and people start criticizing him. This will be a Pay Per View that I will definetly order.

Good point from Brian B. Silva crushed Franklin, so Rich has to buck up or hit the skids. If he fights Anderson enough times, odds are he will win one of the fights. But right now Silva has to be the favorite to stay on top for a while.

I think rich franklin can get his belt back but it wont be off the hands of anderson silva, anderson is soo fluid in his fights and you can really see him change it up. just look at the franklin fight, if you watch it again you can see that after a minute anderson changed up his stance and started flowing his footwork and that changed franklin cuz he never saw that and thats when silva had his number, mike swick should get the next shot but i dont think he can win either, silva is a force to be reckoned with

In a word, NO. Franklin is of course great at stand up, but Silva is just plain deadly, I know we all saw that fight...OUCH. Franklin would have to totally reformat his entire game. If anything he needs to works on takedowns and ground game to beat Silva b/c he'll just be destroyed if he stands up again. Then again, Silva has a fight coming up soon where he has to work on ground game too, so I don't know if Franklin will be able to regain the belt. If so, I really don't see him getting it back from Silva.

I think he has a good chance, he's a smart fighter and will come back stronger and better. He's a tough guy, that fight with Louiseau lasted all 5 rounds and Franklin hung in there and won with a broken hand. Rich needs to work on his Muay Thai skills and I think he's a better wrestler than Silva.

I think he might but not from Anderson Silvia. I like Rich Franklin too, he's a helluva fighter but he'll have to work on that clinch. If this were boxing than I think he'd have a better shot because he's alot more deadly with the hands than Silvia. He's a true warrior though and if nothing else he'll be back.

Rich Franklin is a warrior, BUT I do not see him beating Silva. Silva's standup is phenomenal and as far as people saying that Franklins wrestling is better...why would he want to take a black belt is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the ground. It would end quicker on the ground than it would standing.

I tink he will return like the old Rich Franklin a pure warrior. I know he will get his belt back from either Lutter(i think will beat Silva) or Silva. Franklins seemed like he was out of his element at that fight and choked. When he fights Lutter he will get the title back.

He definitely has a chance. My bet is he takes on 1 or 2 tune up fights before getting another shot at Anderson Silva. But he will definitely have to improve his clinch skills if hes gonna beat Silva.
