It would be overpopulated beyond belief were we to live that long...bad enough as it is.

I think it would be very interesting given that one would stay in good health both mentally and physically.

There was an excellent (now out of print) vampire novel called "The Delicate Dependency" by Michael Talbot (a well respected physicist). In this book the vampires were not the blood sucking evil creatures portrayed in myth (although they encouraged those myths as a cover for their real work). They devoted their longevity and the wisdom that such longevity endowed them with to being the shepherds of humankind. Ironically, this often called for suppression of dangerous knowledge.

In the end the main character, who had created a virus that lacked antigenicity, said to one of the vampires something like: How dare you presume to know what is best for the world. What gives you the right? The vampires response was elegant and to the point. He simply handed the petri dish with the virus to an autistic child that happened to be in the room (another sub-plot that I won't bother with at the moment). Of course the scientist wasted no time in snatching the potentially planet destroying culture out of the hands of child (as he was putting it up to his mouth no less...). The scientist, of course, got the point!

Can you imagine the knowledge one could gain in a thousand years! The down side is, of course, the responsibility.

It would be like a challenging experience for me, I would get an oppurtunity to see how world can shape in 1000 years and how man actually lives and change himself.. We would get a complete lifecycle of the earth and better than ever we may get a chance to know how human mind is actually framed since every life is based on generations and

Finally you would loose fear of death and fear by itself since you will never want to live

Probably, like the people from the 70's. Still waiting on flying cars, robots to do all the work and less bills/work

That's an awful lot of hip surgeries. The last five hundred years would be a lot of arthritic rocking in your rocking chair, complaining that the heat wasn't turned up enough. :-)

Boring! Many people only begin to live their life to the fullest once something happens to them to make them realise they have been taking life for granted... imagine you knew you had all this time to accomplish the goals in your life.

After about 265 year it'll start to get boring. You'd get tired of life.
but it would be neat to see several generations go by.

Lonely. You would have to bury every relative you have for at least 20 generations. Why would you want to live such a lonely existence?

It depends. It can be really cool because you can see how society advances over time. It can also be really sad because you would have to watch almost everyone you love die.
