Help - I have always had a super fast metabolism and I can never put on weight. Only when I was pregnant was I able to. I would like to gain 10 pounds and no matter what I do it doesn't work. Does anyone have any suggestions? I use my elliptical trainer/stepper and free weights but that doesn't seem to make a difference. I am tired being so thin and would love to add some weight and curves to my body.

If anyone has any suggestions for me I would appreciate it very much. Thank you!

Using the elliptical and stepper isn't going to help you gain weight. You should stick to strength training by lifting weights. I also think you should go talk to a doctor about this problem to find out if you have hyperthyroidism, which actually makes your metabolism work faster than normal thus causing you to continuously lose weight. There are also weight gaining powders you can find at GNC or you can increase your daily calorie intake by 500-1000 calories.

Enjoy it while you can! I was like you once. I could eat a whole chocolate cake and never gain an ounce. But when my metabolism came to a screeching halt, the weight came instantly and now I can't seem to loose weight no matter how hard I try. So be happy with your weight now, because your wish to gain a few pounds may come back to bite you in the butt one day!

Eat a lot of carbs like bread with butter, milkshakes, ice cream with the highest fat count. stay off the elliptical trainer/stepper, it only makes your metabolism faster. Sit on the couch and eat chips for hours at a time.

a hihg protein diet helps, and buy some creatine (weight gainer) at your local GNC store. A ot of people think this is a steroid but itisn't, it is over the counter weight gainer. It helps you gain weight that can be turned into muscle quickly and eaily and is a powdery mixture that has a lot of carbs in it and is added to milk. They even have different flavors!

you sound like you are an ectomorph which has a very thin build and can't gain weight. i would add more food into your daily meals and maybe even try some weight gainer shakes that have alot of protein in them. also I would eliminate cardio other than enough to warm up your muscles. lift heavy weights with very little reps.

Hello,

You could try adding 3 bottles of Ensure with Protien to your regular diet and exercise schedule. That should help, plus the extra calories are nutritionally balanced!
