Well since you americans think your country is the best, explain how, well its not the best for
- GDP per capita
- Quality of life
- Poverty (Extreme poverty in the US worse than any other MEDC)
- Obesity rates
- Individual wealth
And i had to say freedom, what maes you anymore free than me, i mean my country (Ireland) we can do anything aslmost, some people in america cant even afford to go to hospital, i mean your no free country, do you think i am jealous of your country?? Seriously? You always compare yourself to the worst, well explain how you are the best for what? Best for donuts? You definately are the most powerful but you seem to abuse that power, and wealth, your country has more poverty than mine, and the uk yet some of you are awfully rich, and don't personally insult me please when you don't like my opinion, if you were any free country you would be able to say a million and one things, i mean half of you haven't even been out of america

Well said, pal.
CUBA has lower infant mortality and lower adult illiteracy than the US, and it's supposed to be a third world country!

I'm from UK, and I know this country is messed up big time. I don't hink there's a best country out there, why do we feel the need to have a best when there's 2 or more of something? But Americans tend to say how great their country is and how much freedom they have, but I know that freedom here is fine - isn't Guantanamo Bay under US control? Wasn't it the US marines that put a US flag up in I think Baghdad during the Iraqi invasion of 2003, as if they were taking over the country, rather than liberating it? The second someone attacks their country they invade one of the terrorist's countries (Iraq) to look for Wepons of Mass Destruction, find none, stay there anyway, look for oil, have a disgraceful record of civilian casualties, are trigger-happy, and have soldiers on trial for murdering entire Iraqi families.
that's what a lot - but not all - of Americans' perception of freedom is...

Why, Why, Why!!!!! Grrr!!! i am an American and no i may not think America is the best. as a matter of fact i know America is not the best and i am not the only American that thinks that. But that has nothing to do with whether we like to live here or not. i love where i live it is in the Country awesome view, peaceful and quiet and i wouldn't change that for the world. CRAP everyone knows that right now our Government is messed up but i am just a middle class person and if you haven't noticed there are a lot of middle classed people here and what the heck do you think we can do to change our Government. VOTE that is all we can do but in the end the Government is going to not be the greatest and still make poor decisions. BUT we have to trust that they have our best interest in hand. No one is perfect and America isn't perfect but i love it here and i wouldn't want to live any where else but in America. i have travelled outside of America and the places i have been are awesome, so i know what it is like else where. please STOP thinking that us American think we are perfect b/c we don't, that is just something you just drummed up in your head. THANK YOU

Please, please don't generalize America. I am american and I have never said that we're NUMBER ONE!! That is what the adminstration we have right now is pushing us to believe, but many are finally seeing the light. I've always admired the british isles, and I wish that we were on friendlier terms with the rest of the world. Unfortunately we have some idiot for a president (which I certainly didn't want the FIRST time around) and until we get him out of office, we're unlikely to change our political agenda. Look toward the future of America, and hopefully we will be part of the change that everyone wants in our world.

This country may have stumble but she has never fell. And sometime she may look bad but over all she still number one be it in quality of life, and for poverty ,or wealth we are still the best. And for obesity we must be doing sometime write, and last if we are not that good why is there such a very large melting pot here.So my feeling is if u don't love it then leave it.

first of all, i am not personally responsible for the decisions of the people who are in power in my country
secondly, i don't care if you are jealous or not
don't bunch everyone in a group when discussing a subject as thus because it doesn't prove a thing when you generalize
i have been out of america numerous times
there is nothing wrong with you being proud of your country anymore than it is for me to be proud of mine
and since you failed to mention which country you are from it is hard for anyone to debate the issue with you because there is nothing to use for comparrison
and thanks, but i love my country, despite the fact that i don't always agree with its politics
it's a land of personal freedoms and i can bash the people in power verbally if that is my choice, i can live where i want to, go where i want to and that's enough for me

I think every country has their problems. Ireland has certainly seen its share. I am from Canada and love my country. I can't blame Americans for feeling the same way about their country.

America is free as far as opportunity. People come to America to do things they can't do in other countries. If you want to know why its so "great" ask the people that give life and limp to get to America. There you will find your answer.
