If you only ban one religion's expression, then you've already lost freedom of religion.
There's a more sinister motive to the wrong-minded people trying to ban the headscarves. They don't like Islam in their country and want to somehow marginalize it and weaken it. Christianity should support the headscarf, Mary supposedly wore it and it's in every painting of her. The headscarf (aka "hijab" in Arabic) is a religious requirement for observent Muslim women, as it is for modesty. Banning it is as bad as banning crosses or yarmukles.

I don't mind Muslimas wearing a veil at work its ones own choice. But I find the face should not be covered. It would be difficult if you want to ban crosses these are great in fashion and everybody wears them not just Christians

The ultimate conclusion of this could be a world-wide ban on religion. Once we go beyond relatively "small" matters like this, where do you stop? The line of restriction will be pushed further, little by little, and no-one will notice until religion is put under a severe world-wide ban.

Neither should be banned. The whole "having your face covered is a security threat" argument and other similar nonsense is just an excuse to discriminate against Muslims, and a poorly veiled one at that (no pun intended).

Wearing a cross on a chain is very different from covering your whole face. There is no problem with Muslims wearing head scarfs etc but facial covering impedes communication.

I can understand why the face covered should be banned.Women fought & died for us to get the rights we have &
in my opinion no religion is going to take that away from me.You cannot compare a necklace to some one covering there face.
