Many of our homeless have mental disorders that are considered minor by our government and mainlined back into society where they had to compete for jobs and housing. Their families can not take care of them so they are left to wander the streets.

It sounds like it would be a good idea, but . . . . why pick on just the churches? Why not use vacant wherehouses or closed shops? These areas were generally used by the general public all day long six-seven days a week. Most have concrete floors that are easily cleaned. Showers and lockers can be more easily installed in these buildings than in churches.

My church does open its doors to the homeless on cold nights. Some get rowdy and contentious, but most just try to get warmth and a little peaceful sleep. And sometimes things disappear, so care must be taken.

As for permanent, no. We would not be able to supply all that is needed for many of the homeless, but we can help.

For your information, there are homeless shelters. Just because there is a shelter, doesn't make people go there. And no, I would not advice turning a place of worship into anything other then their purpose. AFter all, if your silly idea went through, then you'd complain that we were trying to convert the poor helpless homeless.

Uncle, the city in which I stay boasts 534 souls. that is a mite small with the aid of any criteria. interior 5 blocks of my living house there's a United Methodist church, and a Pilgrim Holiness. on the line in the back of my living house sits New Rehobeth Church, and purely previous that is New wish. below a mile out the line are the Baptists, with the Jehovah's Witnesses perhaps 0.5 of one mile previous that. that is 6 church homes contained in the instant section, with 3 extra before you hit the subsequent nearest city going east. because I savour photographing church homes (quite the former ones, even extra efficient in the experience that they have got a carillon) i'm attentive to each church interior one hundred miles. on the line to the city the position the first oil nicely contained in the US change into drilled, there sit down 23 -- count number 'em --- 23 church homes of diverse denominations. yet another 15 are placed between my living house and the city in which i change into born -- a city that is purely 35 miles away. i have self belief i have purely specified the approximate places of fifty church homes, that is ridiculous, thinking this county has about 20,000 human beings. those 50 church homes aren't to any extent further the purely church homes interior this county. i'm attentive to 2 community church homes (won't be able to communicate for those farther than 10 miles from my living house) which offer nutrition to the needy, and which perform a nutrition pantry. There aren't any nutrition banks interior my county, except for those church homes whose congregations attempt to do their section. The style of homeless shelters sits at 0. that is 0 homeless shelters, Uncle, and we do have homeless in my section. might want to you opt for to understand the position the homeless in my section stay? Burger King. there's a now-vacant Burger King for the time of from our community Walmart and the universal array of quick nutrition joints. that is the following the position the homeless pitch their tents. i'm no longer kidding. As our yellow pages incorporates listings for 3 counties, i'm no longer even searching.

Wouldn't that be a humbling transformation. So many Christians try to stay so isolated from everyone else that it's impossible for them to work for God. We need to snap back to reality and God's true message of showing hospitality towards those in need. Some churches have egos to large for their own good.

No, the homeless do not contribute to society. They should be exterminated rather than have them desecrate God's house!
