Do not feed them food from the table. It is a bad habit to get them used to and it's bad for their teeth. The purpose of dry food/kibble is at act as a natural abrasive to brush the dog's teeth. Regularly tooth brushing is recommend as well. Also, if you feed them chicken you have the potential to accidentally give them bones too...never give your dog poultry bones..they splinter easily and can become choke hazards or tear their insides up.
You can select any good quality puppy food and later you'll need to switch him to an adult food and eventually a senior formula.
I feed my boys (one of them is named Buddy too!) Innova Evo kibble. It is an all stages food so no need to switch and it is made of all natural meats and vegetables. NO grains. Grains are one of the common food allergies for dogs and does not provide nutrients to the dog, it is merely in there as a filler to make the dog full. It is passed, so putting the dog on a no grain food will reduce the amount the dog passes.

Since Chis are so tiny you need to make sure what you are feeding is very high quality as not so much goes in. So what does go in needs to be good stuff that is very nutrious.
I would be feeding a super preimum dry food. It is better in the long run for thier teeth and health. I would NEVER start with table scraps as then that is all they will eat and they will be lacking in many nutirents.
Look at foods like
Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul or
Priemum Edge
California Natural
Eagle Pac
Solid Gold
Wellness
Innova
Merrick
Something along those lines would be the best.
All are high quality and will have everything your puppy needs to be as healthy as he can be.

Puppy small bites of a good food like Eagle, Nutro Natural or Canidea. Real food can be fed, but boil chicken or ground beef, drain all fat and mix with white rice. This is a bland diet, a bit of garlic salt can be added, but feed it as a treat. You can also satay liver with garlic salt for treats too. Check out some dog food recipie sites.

Purina also makes a much better quality puppy food. It is called Purina Pro plan. That is what I feed my puppies. You have to buy it at a pet store. Get the small breed kind. It has small pieces and is much easier for the little ones to chew. I wouldn't feed him any meat. He will not want to eat the puppy food if you feed him foods that we eat. Congrats on your new baby.

It is best not to start him on table food if you want to keep him healthy. If he seems healthy and at a good weight he should be O.K. Eating dry food a that early age does concern me. Sometimes even large dogs do not get enough nutrition because they do not eat enough dry dog food because their puppy teeth start hurting or their jaws get tired of chewing. I would suggest that at least in the morning soften some of the dog food with water which will make it easier for him to chew. He will also have problems eating dry dog food between 3-6 months old because he will be losing teeth. So the soften food will help him eat his food easier.

Get off the purina and get him some science diet. You will have to go to a pet store to find it. In a very small amount you could feed him some meat, but i wouldn't do it alot.

I don't like your chances. Cats use litter boxes. Dog should be trained to go outside to eliminate. Your dogs at 9 weeks of age are too young to catch on to house training in any case.
